Surface Design for Ceramics Intensive
July 7, 2019 @ 8:00 am - July 27, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
This is a hands-on course that will dive into a wide variety of processes involving image transfer, painting, drawing, stencils, resists, and much more.
This class has been designed to help participants find their own creative voice and introduce them to processes that can support that vision. Initially we develop the discipline and habits to do this methodically through meticulous record keeping, which makes our results repeatable. This part of the class is based upon what is known as “Vertical Logic”. The Instructor’s primary aim however is to get participants to recognize what it is that they want to do. We will begin to identify that by applying “Critical Thinking” skills to what it is that we are currently producing as individuals. In the final step, the Instructor encourages participants to take all of what they’ve learned and apply “Lateral Thinking” to it. It’s a way of thinking outside of the box, and bringing uniquely creative solutions to all of our projects. Come join us, you may find the experience to be transformative!
Prior experience is highly recommended. Course overviews, registration forms, and studio policies are available for review in the Heartwood Welcome Center/Store. Class size will be limited to eight students per class.
