Women’s Summer Solstice Nature Retreat
June 20, 2021 - June 25, 2021
Settle into the natural world and enjoy 6 days and 5 nights at Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary among the green rolling hills of far Northern California. Gathering with a group of women during this time of expanded light and long days, we’ll explore what it means to inhabit our lives with Intention, Compassion and Joy.
Sunday to Friday
June 20 – 25, 2021
Arrive Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00pm
Retreat Ends Friday, 11:30am
Drawing on the perspectives of Buddhist practices, secular mindfulness, and the wisdom of the natural world, we’ll discover our innate capacity to fully open to our lives just they are.
Our trauma-sensitive and resiliency focused practices include meditation, conversation and mindful movement with extended periods of morning and evening silence. The afternoons include topic-specific small group discussions along with time for swimming in the gorgeous outdoor pool, hiking, relaxation and connection. Each evening we’ll gather for a dharma talk and meditation.
Heartwood Mountain Sanctuary is located 200 miles north of San Francisco, about an hour’s drive outside of the town of Garberville. This beautiful secluded center is tucked into the hills of southern Humboldt County where peace and solitude abound, a perfect place to settle in, unwind, and replenish during the summer solstice.
With a commitment to our health, safety, and overall well-being, all group activities will be held outside; meditation, movement, discussions and meals.
The Heartwood Lodge Kitchen prepares the freshest farm-to-table fare, grown right on site. The culinary staff creates nourishing menus with seasonal farm fresh produce, merging the best of old world haute cuisine and new world innovation. Our first meal together will be Sunday dinner, and our last meal will be a Friday breakfast. Snacks, tea coffee, and water are available anytime. The chef is happy to reasonably accommodate those with food restrictions.
The newly renovated modern eco-lodging offers a variety of options: private rooms, individual bungalows, and larger upgraded private rooms. Outdoor camping is also an option. If you choose to camp, please plan to bring your own tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad. All lodging has access to nearby shared bathroom facilities with the exception of two private rooms that have their own bathrooms. The choice is yours. Retreat fees are determined in the registration process by your lodging choice.
In an effort to support our health and safety, everyone will have their own private room unless choosing outdoor camping. Further health and safety guidelines will be in place for the duration of the retreat. We ask that all participants agree to the guidelines.
Everyone is welcome. The Women’s Summer Solstice Nature Retreat is suitable for both beginning and seasoned practitioners. We hope you’ll join us!
