The Emerald Triangle
Exploring Humboldt County’s legendary cannabis culture through wellness, education and recreation
Located in the Heart of the Emerald Triangle, Heartwood offers a unique and unparalleled perspective into California’s legendary cannabis culture.
Historically the term “Emerald Triangle” refers to the area in Northern California that encompasses Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity counties. This part of the world has long been famous as one the largest cannabis-producing regions in the US, and the name is a nod to to the abundance of high-quality cannabis plants growing throughout its beautiful valleys. The mediterranean style terroir of hot, dry summers and cold fall nights make for an ideal growing environment, and for many in the area cannabis is a way of life.
Heartwood has served as a healing arts center and community hub in the Humboldt community for 40 years and during this time we have seen the area undergo many changes.
This is a pivotal and exciting time to shape a new chapter of land management in California, through our hands in the soil and our strong voices in the greater community. We are committed to equitable access, forging new partnerships, and maintaining a vibrant network of independent farmers in Southern Humboldt County and beyond.
